I love illustrated vintage comics, books, and magazines! I’m not a collector, but I can spend a whole afternoon looking at them online. There are a lot of them that were intended to be erotic, but there are others that, to contemporary eyes, read as unintentionally dirty. (Or maybe I’m just channeling my inner twelve-year-old—e.g., everyone keeps talking about someone called “Dick,” har har har.) In any case: men spanking women, women spanking men, women spanking women, leather, latex, shoes, boots, stockings, bondage, whips, huge tits, and more. Founded by British clothing designer John Sutcliffe as an offshoot of his Atomage fetish clothing label (which was way before its time), the ‘Atomage’ magazine was published in an A5 format between 1972-1980. It focused on PVC and rubber fetishism, which helped push this kinky subculture forward and gave the community a magazine they could call their own. ‘Atomage Bondage’ and ‘Atomage Rubber’ became sister zines to ‘Atomize.
